Financial League Standings
As the final stones of the season come to rest and the ice crew starts thinking about shutting down the plant, the standings tell the story of another fantastic year in the Financial Curling League. What began months ago with hopeful handshakes and freshly sharpened sliders turned into a season full of big shots, missed sweep calls, heroic comebacks, and the occasional “what exactly was that?” moment. 🥌
Teams battled week after week, climbing the ladder, sliding down it, and sometimes bouncing off it entirely. Some rode hot streaks worthy of the highlight reel, while others proved that persistence, humour, and post-game beverages are equally important parts of the sport. In true curling fashion, every game came down to strategy, teamwork, and just a little bit of good fortune from the curling gods.
The standings now sit as the official record of the 25/26 season—but they only tell part of the story. The real victory was another year of great competition, laughs in the hack, questionable sweeping techniques, and the camaraderie that keeps everyone coming back Saturday after Saturday.
So as we wrap up the year, congratulations to the teams who topped the leaderboard and took home the hardware. Respect to those already plotting revenge for next season, and a big thanks to everyone who made the ice lively all year long.

Preseason Announcement
Believe it or not, summer is already starting to slide by faster than a perfectly thrown draw. Before long, it’ll be time to trade lawn chairs for hack shoes, dust off the brooms, and convince ourselves that all those summer beverages were actually part of our “off-season training.”
It’s almost time to start thinking about registering for the 2026/27 Financial Curling League season. More importantly, it’s time to start recruiting! If you know friends, family, coworkers, or neighbours who have ever wanted to give curling a try, invite them along. Our league welcomes curlers of every ability—whether they can hit the button blindfolded or think a hog line is something found on a farm. Everyone is welcome, and the more teams we have, the more fun the season will be.
Until then, we hope everyone is enjoying vacations, camping trips, fishing, golfing, backyard BBQs, and whatever adventures summer has in store. Stay safe, stay healthy, and don’t worry—we promise the ice will still be there when you get back. See you all soon, and remember… the only thing that should be sliding this summer is your canoe—not your delivery!

If my team is throwing up more misses than a penny stock in a recession, I’ll likely be found face-down in a pint glass, drowning my sorrows instead of updating spreadsheets. Your patience—and curling sympathy—is appreciated.
