Financial League Standings
As the final stones of the season come to rest and the ice crew starts thinking about shutting down the plant, the standings tell the story of another fantastic year in the Financial Curling League. What began months ago with hopeful handshakes and freshly sharpened sliders turned into a season full of big shots, missed sweep calls, heroic comebacks, and the occasional “what exactly was that?” moment. 🥌
Teams battled week after week, climbing the ladder, sliding down it, and sometimes bouncing off it entirely. Some rode hot streaks worthy of the highlight reel, while others proved that persistence, humour, and post-game beverages are equally important parts of the sport. In true curling fashion, every game came down to strategy, teamwork, and just a little bit of good fortune from the curling gods.
The standings now sit as the official record of the 25/26 season—but they only tell part of the story. The real victory was another year of great competition, laughs in the hack, questionable sweeping techniques, and the camaraderie that keeps everyone coming back Saturday after Saturday.
So as we wrap up the year, congratulations to the teams who topped the leaderboard and took home the hardware. Respect to those already plotting revenge for next season, and a big thanks to everyone who made the ice lively all year long.
Until next season… keep your broom down, your draw weight dialed in, and remember: there’s always next year’s last rock. 🥌🍻
Weekly Recap
🥌 Financial Curling League – Championship Day Recap: Glory, Redemption & $27 Drama
The final rocks of the season have been thrown, the brooms are cooling off, and the Financial League has officially wrapped another legendary year of 10am Saturday curling excellence.
Championship day delivered everything we hoped for: clutch shots, playoff nerves, and at least one team already planning their revenge tour for next year.
Semi Finals
K of C vs Team Morris
K of C came into the semis focused and business-like, taking care of business against Team Morris and securing their spot in the final.
Team Morris fought hard but unfortunately discovered that playoff curling does not always follow the script.
Mobmen vs Drawing a Blank
On the other sheet, Mobmen battled Drawing a Blank and managed to secure the victory to advance to the championship game.
Drawing a Blank played well but were forced to shift their focus to the Consolation Final, which—let’s be honest—is a nicer looking trophy and wlll look good sitting on the shelf.
Championship Final
K of C vs Mobmen
The big one.
Two top teams.
Lots of experience.
Plenty of sweeping (especially if Paul had anything to say about it).
In the end, K of C delivered the goods, defeating Mobmen and claiming the Financial League Championship.
Congratulations to K of C for taking home the big prize and proving that persistence, teamwork, and possibly very vocal sweeping can lead to greatness.
Consolation Final
Drawing a Blank vs Team Morris
Drawing a Blank bounced back nicely and secured the Consolation Final victory over Team Morris by choosing Yellow!
A strong finish to the season and a well-earned trophy to show for it.
The Skins Game – Where the Real Drama Happened
Day Breakers vs Kings of Stone
Day Breakers came out swinging and quickly looked like they were about to walk away with the entire prize purse, grabbing the early skins and building up $13.
Then… the curling universe shifted.
Kings of Stone brought the magic.
The skill.
The clutch gene.
With the last rock of the 8th end, Kings of Stone calmly slid a stone into the four foot, exactly where it needed to be to capture the end, the carryover skins, and the remaining $27.
A stunning turnaround and one of the most dramatic finishes of the season.
Final Congratulations
🏆 K of C – League Champions
🏆 Drawing a Blank – Consolation Champions
💰 Kings of Stone – Skins Game Prize Winners
Looking Ahead
It wasn’t the day Team Morris or Mobmen had planned, but every great sports story includes a chapter titled:
“Revenge Season.”
And that chapter begins in October 2026.
Until then—thanks to everyone who made this another fantastic year of curling, laughs, and Saturday morning fun.
See you next season. 🥌😄

*Total Points will be adapted from the Grand Slam of Curling points system to calculate Total Points. That's right- our standings will now mirror the big leagues!
Because since we throw like a club curler, we may as well score like a pro.
So whether you're raking in wins or just sweeping up after a tough loss, rest easy knowing your points are being counted just like the real deal- only with fewer TV cameras and spectators.
Please note: Weekly updates may occasionally be delayed, depending on the emotional state of the commissioner (that’s me). If my team is throwing up more misses than a penny stock in a recession, I’ll likely be found face-down in a pint glass, drowning my sorrows instead of updating spreadsheets. Your patience—and curling sympathy—is appreciated.
